The 2nd Amendment - in Discworld!

For those not familiar with Sir Terry Pratchett's "Discworld" books, all I can say is you are missing a real treat.  this can be fixed very quickly, with a trip to your local library or bookstore.

The snippet for today precisely describes the ORIGINAL meaning of the 2nd Amendment to the US Constitution, and is from "Nanny Ogg's Cookbook" by Sir Terry with the help of a few others.  Extremely brief background:  Lancre is the name of a small kindgom which is the site of a number of the series' stories.

"In Lancre we have what I suppose you'd call a constitutional monarchy if we had a constitution.  What this means is this:  there is only one king and more'n five hundred subjects, and they all work every day at jobs which mostly involve sharp things.  It's one of those lessons that are so obvious they don't have to be taught."

Making any amendment to constitution should be asked in people to vote. I think only citizens of this or that country have right to decide whether anything should be changed or not. We don't want to come back to monarchy times therefore people have to control their authorities to avoid past mistakes.
